What We Buy
We love to look at gently used books and media and we make offers in store credit. Our store credit is usable on any merchandise in the store except Custom Book Art, Sketches, Video Game Consoles, Compass & Key Studios jewelry, and it never expires. Store credit is not valid for the purchase of Gift Cards, but is transferable. We buy back items that we feel that we can sell and may reject items due to age, condition, or stock on hand. The amount that we offer for items is not negotiable and you are free to reject any offer made by our staff. Stop in today to find out if you have what we need.
Please note that as of 10/6/17 Murphy's Used Books will no longer pay cash for items sold back to us. Offers are made in store credit only.
Getting Started

Bring your items to the Buyback counter located near the front of the store and check in.

Drop off your items and then shop around.

While you shop, our staff will evaluate your items and make an offer in Store Credit. Orders typically take about 15-20 minutes to process, just ask about the wait time for larger orders. You are expected to redeem your offer the same day prior to closing. Store Credit does not expire and does not need to be used the same day it is earned. Store Credit is redeemable on most items in the store. Please see store for any restricted items.

Your credit will be loaded into your Murphy's Rewards account to be used at any time. If you haven't set up your Rewards account yet, a staff member will assist you when you redeem your offer.

If an order is left unredeemed overnight, we will attempt to contact you the next day to remind you about your offer. If you have a Rewards account we can add the credit to your account and recycle any unwanted items. We cannot store unwanted items for an extended period of time. If you would like any items returned to you then you must return to the store during the same day as processing in order to pick up your items.

If the order is left for more than one night it will be considered abandoned and we will redeem your offer, process your items for resale, and recycle any unwanted items. This is the same process we apply to Large Orders.

If your order is deemed a Large Order, you will need to fill out a Large Order Release form. We will process your order, recycle any unwanted items, and apply the Store Credit to your Rewards account. If you do not have a Rewards account, a staff member will assist you in creating one before you leave.
